English spoken ... yes we try. » Engine stops after 2-3 km

Hi
Others who have that problem . The engine starts and run for 2 to 3 km then stops.When it stops I can hear the pump in the tank keep running until I take ignition off.
When I set ignition back on it runs the normal test and stop after the test.But every time the engine quiet it keeps running. It looks like it doesn't get fuel,
maybe the ECU.After a certain time it stars again and procedure.
Can anybody HELP the has run 1900 km. ???

Hi Steen,

maybe it's not a fuel supply problem but an ignition problem. I myself had problems with the crankshaft sensor when the engine became warm. The sensor has a grey or violet top, is located on the left engine side and is fixed only by one bolt.
You could try and swap it with the identical sensor at the rear wheel that is for the speedometer. That's an easy check!

Hello,

I am sure that you have the error with the crankshaft sensor as it has already written Ansgar. The old sensor was violet, the new one has a gray plastic. I also had the same mistake, after about 10km
the engine stopped. after cooling I can start it again.
The error was gone after the crankshaft sensor and camshaft position sensor have been replaced.

Any of you having vibration at about 3000 Rpm ?
I also have a lot of ticking at idle right side. ??
